Na'ima B Robert was born in Leeds and grew up in Zimbabwe. She gained a 1st-class degree from the University of London and has worked in marketing, the performing arts and teaching. Her children's book, Journey Through Islamic Art was given a WOW Award by the National Literacy Association. She lives in south London with her husband and two small sons.
