Recensioner i media

'All technology management students, no matter what their level of expertise and experience, will appreciate this structured and comprehensive text. It provides the kind of clarity that is crucial when dealing with such a complex problem space, whilst offering invaluable richness in terms of tools, techniques, supporting research and examples.' - Mike Lewis, Professor of Operations and Supply Management at Bath School of Management, University of Bath, UK 'Cetindamar, Phaal and Probert provide the reader with a clear and comprehensive guide to the theory and practice of technology management. Not only is it a useful collection of the best approaches and analytical frameworks, but the structure adopted by the authors connects a generic process model with valuable tools and techniques in an integrated approach. We are taken through a series of 6 technology management activities in Part I, followed by 6 tools for the manager in Part II, including patent analysis, the S-curve and the stage-gate framework. Each of these is illustrated with related case studies, linking a specific analytical approach to business strategies more generally. The Chapter structure provides a useful framework for linking past studies with key academic concepts and practice, whilst the style and content are both hugely engaging. It is an excellent book in an important field for both aspiring and practicing managers in technology management.' - Simon Collinson, Professor of International Business and Innovation, Warwick Business School, UK 'An excellent and well organized resource for people wanting to understand the complexities of technology management. Because the book is structured around a framework and offers a range of tools and techniques, it is also essential for those already working in technology management who want to ensure they follow a structured approach to decision making. I was impressed by the comprehensive coverage of key definitions and concepts and the application of these concepts to case examples.' - Jenny Darroch, Author of Marketing Through Turbulent Times and Professor of Marketing at Drucker Graduate School of Management, USA 'Technology management is a knowledge and research theme but equally important, a critical and challenging organizational practice. This book accomplishes the very intricate task to provide actionable knowledge using both as sources. In a uncomplicated way it highlights the nonlinearity of TM activities and yet provides a framework that is easily accessed. This is a great book and extremely useful for our teaching at Chalmers!' - Professor Sofia Borjesson, Director of the Center for Business Innovation, Head of Division: Innovation Management, Technology Management& Economics, Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden 'This volume delivers an excellent guide for managers, final year undergraduate and post-graduate students who want to hit the ground running in firms driven by technology innovation. It describes Technology Management as rooted in a particular set management competencies delivered through a related set of management tools and is based on detailed extended case studies. The book fills a gap between general Operations Management texts and more diffuse Innovation Management texts.' - Dr Chris Ivory, Degree Programme Director of the Masters in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship at Newcastle University Business School. 'This is a much needed update on the field of technology and innovation management, written by a team of academics with a keen sense of industry needs. It provides an accessible and clear-cut picture of state-of-the art TM frameworks, and offers theoretically grounded yet hands-on illustrations of how to apply the field's most central tools. This book will be of great value to students of technology and innovation management, as well as its practitioners.' - Tomas Hellstrom, Professor at CIRCLE, Lund University, Sweden 'The reputation of this book's international author
