Mohsin Hamid grew up in <city w:st="" />Lahore</city />, attended <placename w:st="" />Princeton</placename /> <placetype w:st="" />University</placetype /> and <placename w:st="" />Harvard</placename /> <placename w:st="" />Law</placename /> <placetype w:st="" />School</placetype /> and worked for several years as a management consultant in <place w:st="" /><state w:st="" />New York</state /></place />. His first novel, Moth Smoke, was published in ten languages, won a Betty Trask Award, and was a finalist for the PEN/Hemingway Award. His essays and journalism have appeared in Time, the New York Times and the Guardian, among others. Mohsin Hamid currently lives, works and writes in <city w:st="" /><place w:st="" />London</place /></city />.
