25 år har passerat sedan Bret Easton Ellis debuterade med Less Than Zero och när han nu återvänder till Los Angeles och karaktärerna från den boken så har mycket förändrats men ändå inte. Huvudpersonen, hyllade manusförfattaren Clay har precis kommit tillbaka från New York och känner sig som en främling i sin hemstad. Via sin gamla vänner som fortfarande är inblandade i skumma affärer, dras han snabbt och oundvikligt in i en bekant värld fylld av dekadens, våld och ond bråd död. Ellis är tillbaka där han började men Imperial Bedrooms är mer av en noir- thriller än hans tidigare alster. Misantropiskt som vanligt. Tätt, mardrömslikt och mystiskt. Ellis gör ingen besviken.
