In this third volume of THE DARK TOWER: THE GUNSLINGER, conceived by Robin Furth with art by Michael Lark and Richard Isanove, we journey with the last gunslinger to the town of Tull, where there is something sorely amiss.
Roland Deschain in his dogged pursuit of the Man in Black has arrived at this bizarre place to rest for a bit. But he learns that the Man in Black has been through here and left his hideous mark. He has placed a demon inside the womb of the town's preacher-a 300 pound woman named Sylvia Pittson. And before Roland can proceed on his way toward destiny and the DarkTower, this awful potential offspring of the ultimate evil, the Crimson King, must be utterly destroyed.
Unfortunately, the Reverend Pittson is not willing to let go of her unholy seed easily.
