MARY SPONGBERG is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Modern History, Macquarie University, Australia. She is author of Feminizing Venereal Disease, Writing Women's History Since the Renaissance and the forthcoming A History of Women. ANN CURTHOYS is Manning Clark Professor of History and Head of the History Department at the Australian National University. She is currently Visiting Professor of Australian Studies at Georgetown University, Washington DC. Her publications include For and Against Feminism: A Personal Journey into Feminist Theory and History. BARBARA CAINE is Professor of History at Monash University, Australia. Her publications include Destined to be Wives: The Sisters of Beatrice Webb and she is the General Editor of Australian Feminism: A Companion.
