He is the author of numerous science fiction and non-fiction titles, including The Soft Edge: A Natural History and Future of the Information Revolution and Mind at Large: Knowing in the Technological Age. He has a PHd in Media Theory from New York University, USA and has written over a hundred scholarly articles on the history and philosophy of communication and technology.
