Library Centers

Library centres bring librarians and teachers together to offer students varied learning opportunities across the curriculum while teaching them important information skills. This book documents a continuous library centre programme with mini-lessons on a range of topics for student interaction. The topics range from bears, books and dinosaurs, to natural resources, rockets, and Victorian holiday traditions. The projects use different types of media, such as books, tapes, CD-ROMS, and the Internet to give students a variety of experiences with fiction and nonfiction and allow them to interact with resources.
