Sarah Clark's life is irrevocably changed at the age of fourteen when her English teacher, Mr Carr, seduces her after class. Emily Maguire is a Sydney novelist, essayist and English teacher. Her writing on sex, religion, culture and literature have been published in newspapers and journals including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Griffith Review and The Observer.
