'Write to me, Emmi. Writing is like kissing, but without lips. Writing is kissing with the mind.' It begins by chance: Leo receives emails in error from an unknown woman called Emmi. Being polite he replies, and Emmi writes back. A few brief exchanges are all it takes to spark a mutual interest in each other, and soon Emmi and Leo are sharing their innermost secrets and longings. The erotic tension simmers, and it seems only a matter of time before they will meet in person. But they keep putting off the moment - the prospect both excites and unsettles them. And after all, Emmi is happily married. Will their feelings for each other survive the test of a real-life encounter? And if so, what then? Love Virtually is a funny, fast-paced and utterly absorbing novel, with plenty of twists and turns, about a love affair conducted entirely by email.

Recensioner i media

'One of the cleverest and most magical love-dialogues in modern literature' Volker Hage, Der Spiegel. 'I couldn't put it down ... Obvious as that sounds, the only way to separate us was for the story to leave first and, like a jilted lover, when I reached the end I wanted more' Danielle Goldstein, Time Out. 'This was a massive, million-plus bestseller in Glattauer's native Germany, and it's easy to see why. Short, striking and snappily written, Love Virtually explores the brilliant premise of love by accidental email' Henry Sutton, Daily Mirror. 'It's the beginning of a modern romance ... The end is as unexpected as it is inevitable. The book is translated from the German, but the whole thing is tout a fait' Ian Sansom, Guardian. 'It's the kind of book you can read while doing several other things at the same time, but sometimes that's just what you need' Wendy Holden, Daily Mail. 'A love story for the Internet age and one that will not fail to pull you in - excellent' Shona Lappin, New Books Magazine.
