    Alla ingredienser i denna närmast arketypiska berättelse finns med, ändå är den något utöver det vanliga. I början blev jag förvirrad av alla namn, alla djur och växter som räknas upp i kapitel efter kapitel, men efter några timmars läsning vaggas jag in i en meditativ rytm. En rytm som vore behaglig om det inte vore för anledningen till att läsaren bjuds in till den till synes lugna lantliga miljön: Försvinnandet av en ung flicka. Jon McGregor is the author of four novels and a story collection. He is the winner of the IMPAC Dublin Literature Prize, Betty Trask Prize, and Somerset Maugham Award, and has been longlisted for the Man Booker Prize three times. He is Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Nottingham, where he edits The Letters Page, a literary journal in letters.
