    När jag blev rekommenderad denna bok var jag först skeptisk då jag inte gillade filmen så mycket. Då jag fick veta att boken skulle vara mycket bättre än filmen gav jag boken en chans, och rätt som det var hade jag läst ut alla böckerna ur serien och fortsatt på författarens andra serie om Magnus Chase. Rekommenderas till dem som vill ha underhållande läsning, och särskilt till dem som gillar grekisk mytologi - men självklart också för de som inte är så insatta.

    Percy Jackson är en bad boy som har både dyslexi och ADHD. Säger skolan. Egentligen har han dessa svårigheter för att han är en halvgud. Hans bästa vän och favoritlärare berättar/visar för han att de grekiska gudarna är sanna men det går rätt illa till när Zeus tror att Percy har stulit hans blixt. Jag tyckte denna boken var rolig, hade en bra storyline och Riordan kan verkligen få en att vilja läsa mer. Jag kan inte vänta tills jag kan läsa bok nr. 2
