She is the author among others of Flaubert: Writing the Masculine (OUP, 2000) and Intertextuality: Debates and Contexts (Polity, 2003) as exemplifying her wide-ranging, interdisciplinary publications on Flaubert, gender, intertextuality and the modern French novel.
