Kurt Flasch is a German author and philosopher and the recipient of numerous honors, including the Sigmund Freud Prize by the Deutsche Akademie fr Sprache und Dichtung and the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought. He is Professor (Emeritus) of Philosophy at the Ruhr University Bochum and lives in Mainz.
