Miriam Lapp must return to the Amish community of her youth to say goodbye. But goodbye is sometimes easier said than done. When Miriam Lapp left the Amish community of Bird-in-Hand three years ago, she put the past behind her. But when her sister calls with news that their mother has died suddenly, Miriam swallows her pride one last time and travels back to Pennsylvania. Miriams resolve to stay aloof from the Amish community falters when she learns that the rumors that broke up her engagement with Timothy Kauffman years ago were lies. Could it be that she threw away a chance at life and love, all for nothing? If Timothy werent already engaged to marry another woman, maybe they could rekindle their love, but Miriam realizes the past is past. She would never do to Timothys f iance what was done to her. She returns to Indiana hurting, but knowing she did the right thing. When Miri ams family calls on her for help, she once again steps up to the task, knowing her sacrif ice will yield her no personal gain. But it turns out that peace often surpasses our understanding, and love finds us in the most unlikely of circumstances.

Recensioner i media

This is the third book in the Kauffman Amish Bakery series. Readers who havent read the previous two books may be confused as characters histories are not really explained. The love between Timothy and Miriam is apparent from the first time they see each other again. The author adheres to the old Plain traditions, both in relationships and the way of life for the Amish community. This is an entertaining story of Amish life, loss, love and family. * RT Book Reviews, 4-star review *
