This brand new edition of "A Student's Dictionary of Psychology" is the biggest and best yet. Previous editions of the book have been widely praised for the clear and concise entries introducing key concepts from all areas of psychology. This fourth edition not only contains over 200 new entries, but the new user-friendly design and thorough cross-referencing mean it's even easier to find exactly what you're looking for. The key features include: fully updated text reflecting new research and developments in the study of psychology; new entries covering key areas of Applied Psychology; and, mini-biographies of key psychologists. This book should be a staple on every student's bookshelf, and provides a great reference point for students and practitioners in related subject areas.

There is no doubt that this dictionary would be an invaluable addition to all psychology students' bookshelves for reference...It is extremely well-presented, gives straighforward explanations of a comprehensive range of psychological language, including statistics, and its cross-referenceing is impressively thorough. (review of the 3rd edition) -- The Lecturer 19991001 This is an excellent resource for students and practitioners alike. This book should be on every psychologist's bookshelf. (Review of a previous edition) -- Robert J. Sternberg 19920701 This is a very accessible publication, it is well presented, with illustrations to clarify difficult points. (review of a previous edition -- Reference Reviews 19890901 the book is a boon for serious students and an ideal companion for examination revision. The authors are to be congratulated on producing such a comprehensive dictionary, which also includes a very useful list of those spelling and grammatical errors which can so easily destroy the meaning of written work. -- The Lecturer 20050505
