She has written extensively for publications including the New York Times, London Review of Books, Guardian, The Economist, Slate and Jezebel, and since 2005 has run a popular blog at emilymagazine.com. She is the author of a collection of essays, And the Heart Says Whatever, and Friendship is her debut novel.
