    Läste för några år sen att psykoterapeuter rekommenderar deprimerade patienter att läsa dessa böcker, som ett alternativ till medicinering. Jag förstår varför. Huvudkaraktären Mma Ramotswe utstrålar en trygghet, värme och rättrådighet som gör att man blir alldeles lugn, hoppfull (och inspirerad att ta sig en rykande kopp te) samtidigt som man följer historierna och de oerhört komiska situationer som uppstår mellan henne och de andra karaktärerna, och de äventyr de delar som är både oerhört roande och spännande. Beroendeframkallande!

    Läsvärd, rolig, bra personporträtt. Fast ändå inte riktigt samma klass som i början tror. Brister framför allt i intrigen. Behöver vara lite mer spänning också. Kanske skriver McCall Smith lite för många böcker nu?

    Det är en härlig stämning i böckerna där man får en känsla för livet i Botswana. Nu är det fiktion och inte verkligheten som beskrivs, men jag tycker att sättet som personerna i boken beskrivs och deras tankesätt är trovärdiga och annorlunda än mitt eget. Kul att följa hur huvudpersonernas liv förändras.

    Ibland tror jag att AMS använder spökskrivare. Han anger intrigen i boken, sen kan nån underhuggare fylla i te-drickande, filosoferande, bilproblem... Men den här boken är lika bra som alla andra i serien. Det stillsamma tempot är direkt motsatt det i t. ex. Lee Childs serie om Jack Reacher, och båda är bra, på olika sätt.
