A superb example of poetry, art, and history, Nelsonville from A to Z is an engaging book for readers young and old. I encourage all educators and families to discover the joy of our small Appalachian town through experiencing Nelsonville from A to Z. Micah J. Covert, President, Nelsonville-York School Board
Longtime poets and first-time writers, of all ages, contributed to the written and visual art you hold in your hands. This beautiful book is a tiny glimpse of what a community-driven arts education program can do. Stuart's Opera House's Arts Education program is proud to support this book. Tim Peacock, Executive Director, Stuart's Opera House
The making of this treasured book, Nelsonville from A to Z, is an inspiration for all communities. You will want to see firsthand how local talents of all ages contributed outstanding artwork and creative poetry to not only highlight cherished elements of the city but to impact the excellent programming of Stuart's Opera House. It is an honor to endorse this must-have for your collection and to not miss the opportunity to feel a part of this amazing, philanthropic project. Cara Dingus Brook, President and CEO, Foundation for Appalachian Ohio
Celeste Parsons lives outside of Nelsonville in a log house built on a former dairy farm, with her husband Jim, her Westie dog Spook, and a revolving population of deer, turkeys, chipmunks, hummingbirds, and other wildlife. She enjoys gardening, anything having to do with fabric or thread, reading, and bicycle touring with Jim on their tandem bike (64,000 miles since the year 2000, and counting). She is also an enthusiastic member of the ABC Players and thinks of Stuart's Opera House as her second home. She has written poems, plays, technical documentation, and newspaper articles since childhood. This is her first published book. Stuart's Opera House is a nonprofit organization dedicated to its role as a regional leader in the arts community, a center for public expression, and an economic development partner for Southeastern Ohio.
