Hermeneutics defines the rules used to search out the meaning of Scripture. Throughout church history, interpreters have approached biblical interpretation in different ways, using different tools and methods. This book conveniently and accessibly surveys major biblical interpreters and approaches to hermeneutics from the patristic period to the present days. It provides a theoretical basis for understanding the processes of hermeneutics in different faith traditions.

  1. Bra introduktion
    Fredrik Haeffner, 22 februari 2019

Boken är en bra introduktion. Den har ett ledigt språk och ger en bra översikt över bibeltolkningens olika faser genom 2000 år. Alltså inriktad på judisk och kristen hermeneutik

Recensioner i media

"An excellent primer. Based on solid scholarship and balanced judgment, written in a clear, easily accessible style, this textbook offers a superb introduction to complex issues of interpretation all the way from biblical and rabbinic texts to post-modern texts, religious as well as others. Jasper has put every teacher in debt--as well as every reader!"
