charming rhyming book about a girl who is sad as the summer season moves on, ending all her beach activities. the book discusses all four seasons, with a diagram explaining the rotation of the earth around the sun. the little girl realizes each season has enjoyable things to do. she mentions how the weather changes and so do her activities. she protects the rose bushes with her dad, bakes bread with her mom, goes to school, and while she draws winsome pictures about what she loves best, she waits patiently for her fun to begin again. sweet and endearing, where did summer go? is an entertaining and lovingly illustrated salute to summer for all.
