    Men vi andra med hyfsad kunskap i engelska har ändå stor behållning av galenskaperna. En översättning kan väl inte fungera? Att ha läst Liftarens väg till galaxerna (på svenska!) ger åtminstone mig en viss hum om associationsbanorna. Mitt i alltihop dyker verkliga företeelser upp och överraskar!

    I det här "lexikonet" kommer Douglas Adams knasiga humor till fullt utlopp, dels hittar han på betydelser bakom mängder av ortsnamn i Storbritannien och Irland men dessutom sätter han ord på begrepp som det inte funnits ord för tidigare. Som t.ex matrester man ställer in i kylen trots att man vet att man inte kommer att äta dem senare. Eller den känsla som infinner sig när man hittar samma matrester en månad senare¿

Douglas Adams was the world-famous creator of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which has been a radio sitcom, a TV drama, a film and a series of bestselling novels. He was also the author of, among other things, novels starring the metaphysical detective Dirk Gently: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul and the unfinished novel The Salmon of Doubt. John Lloyd is one of the most successful television comedy producers of all time, having been responsible for Not the Nine O'Clock News, Blackadder, QI and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
