His principal areas of research include seismic analysis and design of engineering structures, reliability and safety analysis of engineering systems, dynamic stability of structures, structural dynamics and random vibration. He is the author of Dynamic Stability of Structures (Cambridge, 2006) and Differential Equations for Engineers (Cambridge, 2010). He is the recipient of the Distinguished Teacher Award from the University of Waterloo. He is a voting member of Canadian Standard Association (CSA) N289 Technical Committee on Seismic Design. Shun-Hao Ni is a Civil Analysis Engineer at the Department of Engineering Analysis, Candu Energy Inc., Canada. He received his Ph.D. Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2012. He is a member of Professional Engineers of Ontario and a Seismic Capability Engineer certified by the Seismic Qualification Utility Group. He has participated as a key engineer in seismic margin assessment and seismic probabilistic risk assessment of many nuclear power plants worldwide. He serves as a committee member of Canadian Standard Association (CSA) Standard N289.1 General Requirements for Seismic Design and Qualification of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants since 2016. Wei Liu is a manager and senior civil engineer in the Department of Civil Analysis and Services, SNC-LAVALIN, Canada. He received his Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2001. He is a certified Project Management Professional and member of Professional Engineers of Ontario. He serves as a committee member of Canadian Standard Association (CSA) Standard N289 series. His expertise includes civil analysis and design and specialized in seismic analysis and assessment. He has completed many civil projects and worked in the nuclear industry since 2001. Wei Jiang received his B.S. and M.S. in Civil Engineering from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, in 2016. After graduation, he was a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Waterloo. He joined Candu Energy Inc. in 2016 where he has worked as an Engineering Analyst. Wei Jiang's research activities are in the areas of structural dynamics, soil-structure interaction, earthquake engineering and structural analysis of reactor building in nuclear power plants.
