BruceR. Barringer is a Professor and Department Head for the School ofEntrepreneurship at Oklahoma State University. He also holds the N. Malone MitchellJr. and the Student Ventures chairs. Barringer received his PhD from theUniversity of Missouri and his MBA from Iowa State University. His researchinterests include feasibility analysis, firm growth, corporateentrepreneurship, and the impact of interorganizational relationships onbusiness organizations. Over the years, he has worked with a number oftechnology-based incubators and student-led entrepreneurship activities andclubs. Barringer's workhas been published in Strategic Management Journal, Journal ofManagement, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Small BusinessManagement, Journal of Developmental Entrepreneurship, and severalother outlets. He is the author or coauthor of five books, including EntrepreneurshipSuccessfully Launching New Ventures (Pearson, 2019), PreparingEffective Business Plans (Pearson, 2015), Launching a BusinessThe First 100 Days (Business Expert Press, 2013), The TruthAbout Starting a Business (FT Press, 2009) and What's StoppingYou? Shatter the 9 Most Common Myths Keeping You from Starting Your OwnBusiness (FT Press, 2008). His outside interests include running,trail biking, and swimming. R.Duane Ireland is a University Distinguished Professor and holds the BentonCocanougher Chair in Business in the Mays Business School, Texas A&MUniversity. He also serves as the Executive Associate Dean for the Mays School.Previously, he served as a member of the faculties at University of Richmond,Baylor University, and Oklahoma State University. His research interestsinclude strategic entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship in informal economies,corporate entrepreneurship, and the effective management of organizationalresources. Ireland's researchhas been published in journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academyof Management Review, Academy of Management Executive, Academyof Management Perspectives, Academy of Management Annals, AdministrativeScience Quarterly, Strategic Management Journal, Journalof Management, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journalof Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice,among others. He is a co-author of both scholarly books and textbooks in theareas of entrepreneurship and strategic management. Ireland has servedas a member of editorial review boards for many journals including Academyof Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journalof Management, and Journal of Business Venturing. He completeda three-year term as editor of the Academy of Management Journal andwas the 69th president of the Academy of Management. He is a Fellow of theAcademy of Management and a Fellow of the Strategic Management Society. He hasreceived a number of awards such as a Lifetime Achievement Award forScholarship and Research from Mays Business School and a Distinguished ServiceAward from the Business Policy & Strategy Division of the Academy ofManagement. Ireland's outside interests include running, reading, and spendingtime with his family.
