    Gedigen och inspirerande genomgång av olika faktorer som bidrar till mänskligt lidande.

    Möjligen kan man argumentera att den existentiella dimensionen blir styvmoderligt behandlad men övriga områden är så övertygande beskrivna att boken ändå måste få åtminstone "mycket bra" som betyg.

    Boken är en viktig motpol till medikalisering av lidande, tragedier, missnöje och smärta. Det finns inga enkla lösningar. Människor har en natur. Det finns saker vi behöver för att må bra. Ing... Läs hela recensionen

    Johann Hari har med den här boken och hans förra, den fantastiska Chasing the Scream, blivit en av mina favoritförfattare.

    I hans förra bok fokuserade han på drogkriget och dess konsekvenser och det blev tydligt att folk som missbrukar allt som oftast gör det för att de vill fly ifrån någonting, något form av trauma. I den här boken tacklar han flera sådana trauman, vad de kan bero på och vad vi kan och bör göra åt det, baserat på den senaste forskningen.
