Mark Bellomo is one of the top toy experts in the country, having written hundreds of magazine articles and numerous books. He is considered an authority on action figures, particularly G.I. Joe, Transformers and Star Wars. Bellomo has also authored a number of books on toys and popular culture: Warman's Action Figures Field Guide, Transformers: Identification & Price Guide, Warman's Transformers Field Guide, the first and second editions of The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe: 1982-1994, and Totally Tubular 80's Toys. He is currently working on Transformers: The Fall of Cybertron--A Guide to the Art for IDW Comics (September, 2012). He is also is providing forewords, introductions, and editorial notes for a bevy of IDW Comics trade paperback titles: G.I. Joe: The Best of Larry Hama, the seven volume Transformers: Classics (2011-present) trades, four volumes of G.I. Joe: Special Missions (2010-2011) and the patriotic 4th of July G.I. Joe Treasury Edition (June, 2012). He is also presiding over the company's foray into reprinting NOW Comics' entire run of The Real Ghostbusters comics (2012-2014), as well as the ambitious fifteen-volume hardcover project, G.I. Joe: The Complete Collection (2012-2014), which is "...G.I. Joe like you've never seen it before... the full run of original Real American Hero, Special Missions, and Yearbook tales, placed in proper reading order." Readers may view Bellomo (as he constructs one of his books) as the subject of the 18-part YouTube documentary The Collectable Spectacle. When he's not finishing the construction of the largest action figure resource site in the world (including nearly every action figure from 1964-present taken from his personal collection of 50,000+), Bellomo is also functioning as the pop culture consultant for the upcoming film, Atari Christmas (2014).
