101 Conservative Limericks: Righter-than-left Rhymes for the Times129
Bruce Davidson of Carrollton is something of a Dallas Morning News Limerick Laureate. He started sending limericks to the DMN, and persuaded us to change our decades old 'No Poetry' rule. Our prolific poetic friend can always be found on our letters blog or in print. -Dallas Morning News101 Conservative Limericks is designed to bring a laugh through clever wordplay and also spark political thought on the more serious ones, if there is such a thing. These limericks first appeared online (and sometimes in print) in the Dallas Morning News and on the author's "The Limerick Guy" blog, where they ran regularly for nearly four years, numbering approximately 350 in total. The cream of the crop is within these pages: 101 "righter-than-left" poems ranging from contemporary headlines like Benghazi and immigration to the final days of the "Obamadastrain" and the rise of "Hillary Dillary Dock."About the AuthorBruce Davidson is a Dallas native who currently lives in Carrollton with his wife Sharla. They're proud parents of son Daniel (Texas A&M), daughter Emily (University of Michigan) and English bulldog Lucy (adoption, not a blood relative). He is a graduate of U. of North Texas and Texas Wesleyan School of Law. He also sings traditional Christian music with his brothers Scott and Blake, having recorded three CDs. But writing limericks is his passion.
