He received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in the late 1940's at Summit Methodist Church in Marshall, Texas.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969.

He taught in the public schools in El Paso for 30 years and also taught Sunday school for over 14 years.

He lives with his wife, Carol, in El Paso, Texas.
