Estella P.-M. Ma, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences and the Co-Director of Voice Research Laboratory at the University of Hong Kong. Upon completion of her doctoral study at the University of Hong Kong in 2003, she worked at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, the University of Queensland as a lecturer before she rejoined HKU in 2006. Her research interests include instrumental voice assessments, pediatric voice disorders and voice motor learning. She publishes quality scientific articles in high-ranking journals in the field and her work is regularly presented at international conferences. She is a steering committee member of the Asia-Pacific Society for the Study of Speech, Language and Hearing and also Voice Committee member of the International Association of Logopedics and Phoniatrics. Edwin M.-L. Yiu, Ph.D., is the Professor and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Hong Kong. He is the Founder of the Voice Research Laboratory at the Division of Speech and Hearing Sciences, The University of Hong Kong. He also holds an Honorary Professorship at the University of Sydney. His major fields of research include voice analysis, efficacy of voice therapy, and complimentary and alternative medicine in voice rehabilitation. He has published extensively in the field, with over 90 publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters and edited volumes. He is a regular invited speaker at international conferences in Australia, China, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is a member of the Voice Foundation Scientific Advisory Board and holds the position of editorial board member of several international speech pathology journals.
