Recensioner i media

The intricate and densely layered illustrations are perfect for readers of any age and ability, and make learning visual and collaborative. --The Children's Book Review The Bigfoot Seek and Find series is more than its parts. The text is presented in easily consumable paragraphs that kids in second grade will be able to read. There might be some new words here and there, but they'll be able to read them. Combine that with the fact there's a variety of engaging maps, pictures and humorous drawing and kids will have a very fun time engaging with these Bigfoot books. --Daddy Mojo I am very happy with the BigFoot books and what they offer. There is great information, illustration is amazing, and I really like how interactive the book is. Plus, having a tour guide that is BigFoot makes it better. --Dragonfly Sweetness We can't wait to see where BigFoot goes to next! --Outnumbered 3 to 1 Children ages 3 to 12 can sharpen their search and find skills by locating BigFoot at his favorite vacation retreat in the pages of D. L. Miller's "BigFoot Goes On Vacation" -- but it won't be easy! BigFoot is enjoying his holiday in ten different ways, from deep sea diving and joining a balloon festival to taking a cruise, going to the beach, visiting Yellowstone National Park, and more. This handsome hardcover book presents each getaway as an immense two-page visual puzzle, full of teeming people and creatures. Their task is not only to find BigFoot and his legendary footprint, but also more than 500 other unusual and sometimes unexpected personalities and objects. Fun facts and pictures accompany each scene to help you learn more about vacation activities. Also very highly recommended for family, daycare center, preschool, elementary school, and community library collections is author/illustrator D. L. Miller's fun companion book for young children ages 3 to 12, "BigFoot Visits The Big cities Of The World" --Midwest Book Review I like the little bit of Bigfoot lore that was included, including the origin of the name and they way the creature is seen and what they are called in a variety of cultures, to make the hunt more interesting to young readers. There is also a good amount of information and history about each of the cities that bigfoot is hiding in throughout this book. I like the inclusions of real photographs from the locations, as well as the seek and find illustrations. I think many young readers will skip over the informational bits and just to the bigfoot hunts, but I feel like some will take the time to read, and any chance for them to continue learning I will fully support. Some of the seek and finds were challenging, but in a good way. I enjoyed the book and think that most that would pick up this style of book will agree. --Sharon the Librarian

Övrig information

As with Bigfoot, D.L. Miller is a bit on the reclusive side, rarely seen in public, spending most of his days sketching from his studio located amongst the mighty oak trees only found in the deep dark woodlands far off the beaten path. After spending decades learning the habits of the elusive bipedal humanoid, he has finally agreed to share his illustrative journals that capture the sightings of this larger-than-life creature that has mystified generations.
