Slutsåld

A Disney holiday gift book. The Disney Christmas newspaper comic strip was a yearly tradition from 1960 to 1987, running daily for the 3-4 weeks before Christmas. All 28 special holiday stories are collected in a book for the first time. A delightful book for Disney fans of all ages. The Disney Christmas newspaper strip debuted in 1960 with "Peter Pan's Christmas Story," in which Captain Hook tries to sabotage Christmas. It was such a success that new stories were created yearly, each self-contained, each featuring characters from another animated movie, and each leading up to Christmas Eve and Santa off to deliver his presents. The "Disney-villain-wants-to-spoil-Christmas" plot was exploited with inventive variations each year. Stories include "Cruella's Very Furry Christmas," "Snow White's Christmas Surprise," "Dumbo and the Christmas Mystery," "Cinderella's Christmas Party," "The Three Little Pigs' Christmas Story," and many more.

Övrig information

Frank Reilly (1906-77) was trained as an artist in New York and worked for AP Newsfeatures as comics and cartoon editor. He joined Disney as head of its comic strip department in January 1946. He wrote at least one comic strip, Scorchy Smith, when he was with AP Newsfeatures. Manuel Gonzales (1913-93), a Spanish immigrant who joined the Disney staff in 1936 as an "inbetweener," the lowest rung on animation's ladder, advanced within a couple of years to the comic-strip department. He made the pencil drawings for the Mickey Mouse Sunday page, and later for cartoon stories such as Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland, and then for all cartoon installments in the Treasury of Classic Tales. Arthur Floyd Gottfredson (May 5, 1905 - July 22, 1986) was an American cartoonist best known for his defining work on the Mickey Mouse comic strip. He has probably had the same impact on the Mickey Mouse comics as Carl Barks had on the Donald Duck comics. Two decades after his death, his memory was honored with the Disney Legends citation in 2003 and induction into the Comic Book Hall of Fame in 2006.
