Part of the How to Help series of books exploring issues commonly faced by children and young people at home and in school, Anxiety and Depression offers a complete introduction to these complex, sensitive topics. Sending a hopeful and encouraging message to parents and teachers regarding the benefits of mental health knowledge and awareness, especially in the aftermath of Covid which has worsened an already critical situation in relation to young people's mental health, the book looks first at the general nature of these issues and presents a range of approaches for support. Individual chapters then look at a range of specific problems and their key features. Drawing on case studies to show how supportive strategies can play out in the real world, Gerri Brady explores why pulling together can be a huge factor in achieving positive outcomes - and shows how parents, carers, teachers and schools can help.
