    Började läsa böckerna efter att ha sett TV serien som jag gillade. Blev dock besviken på denna inledande bok i sviten då den mycket mer än serien känns som en blek sagan om ringen kopia. Kanske finns mer här att hämta för den som har tid att plöja igenom några böcker, men för mig tog det stopp.

    Efter att ha sett den nyinspelade tv-serien om Shannara har min fjortonåring nu gett sig i kast med böckerna som filmatiseringen baseras på.
    Böckerna är fängslande och spännande och har ett rikt persongalleri. De har delvis beskrivits som Sagan-om-ringen-kopior och även om det till viss del är korrekt, med onda orcher och goda alver som tillsammans med människor som slåss om makt och om vilken utväg ett rike skall ta för att överleva i en svår situation och vilka uppoffringar som krävs....
