"In this erudite and thoughtful book, Jeremy Chance describes the principles of the Alexander Technique and how to train oneself in this technique. Expanding on what Alexander found, Chance easily and simply describes the steps for training, successfully showing how to improve on one's own. I recommend this book to anyone eager to master the technique." -- Tsukasa Fujimoto, M.D., Emeritus Professor of Showa University, Neurosurgeon, Tokyo, Japan "A hugely inspirational book on Alexander Technique which manages to engage the reader immediately. Creative, colourful, descriptive writing which is accessible to all, encouraging and intriguing at the same time. Will be recommending this to my clients. Many Thanks." -- Angela Bradshaw, Alexander Technique Teacher MSTAT, DMU, DCR(R) "Jeremy Chance's excellent new book shines light on the long-hidden secrets of this incredibly powerful method. Once difficult to learn, Principles of the Alexander Technique makes the Alexander Technique easy to apply to a range of 21st century, real-world health and performance issues." -- Paul Lemberg, entrepreneur, business mentor, and author of Be Unreasonable "I was totally surprised that just by reading one chapter my voice got twice as loud and had much richer resonance!" -- Shigeko Suzuki, Vocalist, Japan Gold Disk Award winner "What Jeremy taught me about the Alexander Technique is surprisingly simple yet impactful, not only on my game of golf but also on my whole life. By becoming conscious of the unconscious, I have learned a way to stay younger and live longer. I recommend this book to anyone who seeks an improved quality of life that stems from a better understanding of how the mind and body work together." -- Nobuyuki Idei, former Chairman and CEO, Sony Corporation "Jeremy Chance offers a lively, engaging and innovative approach to understanding and applying the Alexander Technique." -- Michael J Gelb, author of How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci and Body Learning: An Introduction to the Alexander Technique "Describing the inner workings of FM Alexander's discoveries is a lofty task for any writer, but supplying practical processes for the reader to explore the kinaesthetic meaning of these discoveries is another. This concise little book achieves both beautifully, and coming from the founder of the largest ever teacher training course in the world carries the assets refined from a career spent giving live, one-to-one experiences." -- Paul Cook, editor of DIRECTION, A Journal on the Alexander Technique

Jeremy Chance started his training as a teacher in London in 1976. Since that time, he has established himself as an internationally known and respected teacher of Alexander Technique. He has published many papers on the work, has been a featured teacher at several International Congresses of Alexander Technique, and has made innumerable appearances as a speaker in Australia, New Zealand and throughout Europe, USA and Japan. From 1985 to 2001, Jeremy founded, published and edited DIRECTION, an International Journal on the Alexander Technique which is still in publication. In 2005 he founded his company BodyChance, which now runs the largest Alexander Technique Teacher Education college in the world, with studios in Tokyo and Osaka.
