Doing Quantitative Research in Education with SPSS

Häftad,  Engelska, 2010-12-30

Slutsåld

This accessible and authoritative introduction is essential for education students and researchers needing to use quantitative methods for the first time.

Using datasets from real-life educational research and avoiding the use of mathematical formulae, the author guides students through the essential techniques that they will need to know, explaining each procedure using the latest version of SPSS. The datasets can also be downloaded from the book's website, enabling students to practice the techniques for themselves.

This revised and updated second edition now also includes more advanced methods such as log linear analysis, logistic regression, and canonical correlation.

Written specifically for those with no prior experience of quantitative research, this book is ideal for education students and researchers in this field.

Recensioner i media

'This is a book that even the most confirmed qualitative researcher can highly recommend to students. And for any course in quantitative methods it would be my first choice. The clear and interesting communicative style draws in the reader both to an understanding of some of the basis building blocks of quantitative research but also to some of answers to critiques of certain ways of using statistics. Those wanting just to be able to understand quantitative research as well as the statistically unsure wanting to use it are unlikely to be disappointed. There is a growing need for Daniel Muijs's text also in order to respond to the burgeoning in interest in mixed methodology' -
Professor Liz Todd, Newcastle University
