Practically, all the 'classics' and important recent decisions in US antitrust and EU competition law are included, along with excerpts from secondary legislation and guidelines. The editing strikes a perfect balance: the excerpts include all the important passages and put them into context, but at the same time the snippets are kept to a student-friendly length. In contrast to many other casebooks, which too often confine themselves to a series of case excerpts and extracts from secondary sources without guiding the student through this material, the book by Elhauge and Geradin contains copious amounts of helpful introductory and explanatory comment and questions to guide the student. For comparative competition law courses with a main focus on the US and the EU, this is simply the best book on the market and should be adopted as the course book.
