Born in Japan, Lin Hai-yin blurs the lines between fiction and reality as she draws from her childhood experiences growing up in Peking. Later settling in Taiwan, Lin Hai-Yin contributed greatly to the Taiwanese literary scene throughout her extensive career as a prolific writer, editor and publisher. Nancy C. Ing studied English literature in the West China Union University, Chengtu. She was the editor (19721992) and publisher of The Taipei Chinese PEN. Chi Pang-yuan is Professor Emeritus of English and Comparative Literature at National Taiwan University, and author of The Great Flowing River: A Memoir of China, from Manchuria to Taiwan.
