    Adichie opened a new wold of literature to me. 'Half of a Yellow Sun' is a story that examines in detail a turbulent time in postcolonial Nigeria, and yet Adichie finds a way of transcending history, showing with prodigious skill the human experience in its full, tragic, and formidable nature. Studying it for my exams has been a pleasure, and a journey, and a richness, and I am forever grateful to Ms. Adichie for the experience her novel gave me, and the curiosity it stirred.
