Karen Marshall is a practising private and peripatetic teacher in York with students from five to seventy-one years of age. Karen specialises in multi-sensory music teaching and is a Kodály practitioner. A member of the British Dyslexia Association’s music committee, Karen has trained teachers across the UK on teaching students with Special Educational needs. She writes for Music Teacher Magazine, was a piano and pedagogue student of the late Christine Brown and works voluntarily to support music education at her local Primary and Secondary school.??Heather Hammond trained at Leeds College of Music and Bretton Hall and worked for five years as a primary school teacher. She is a practising piano teacher with a thriving teaching practice in York with students of all ages and abilities. Heather is also an educational music author and has written many books for young piano and woodwind players with pieces included in examination syllabuses for ABRSM, Trinity Guildhall and London College of Music. '…it is clear that I am excited by “Get Set! Piano” and plan to use it with all younger beginners who come to me from now on. This of course means that in a year or so I should hopefully be able to come back with a follow-up article, and let you all know how it goes! Hopefully my enthusiasm will be undiminished of course!
