It's Too Dark, Puffling

Gerry Daly is a children’s author and illustrator. His previous books include the best-selling Puffling series, and Wee Donkey’s Treasure Hunt, all written by Erika McGann. Finn’s First Song was his first author-illustrated book, also published by The O’Brien Press.Erika McGann grew up in Drogheda, County Louth, and now lives in Dublin. She is the author of many books including The Demon Notebook (winner of the Waverton Good Read Children’s Award), the ‘Cass and the Bubble Street Gang’ series and Tabitha Plimtock and the Edge of the World. Her picture books include the Where Are You, Puffling? stories (illustrated by Gerry Daly) and Standing On One Leg Is Hard and What is a Peachick? (illustrated by Clive McFarland), as well as the 2025 IBA winning Run Home Little Fox (co-authored with Tom McCaughren, illustrated by Shannon Bergin).

Together they visit a playful rabbit, a happy crab, a friendly blue shark and other animals on Skellig. Each one tells the little puffling what they love most about the dark, and Puffling helps her little friend not to be afraid any more
