From the beginning, God established identity before function. He told Jeremiah, "e;Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart"e; (Jeremiah 1:5). Notice the order. God spoke to Jeremiah about who he was before He spoke about what he would do. Your being always comes before your doing. When you lose sight of your being, your doing becomes aimless, forced, or even destructive.The world today is suffering from an identity crisis.
