IN A CITY OF MALICE, TWO WITCHES MEETZig has been transported to Striggo, a drug-infested city of lawlessness where even mercenaries like him must stay vigilant. Dodging dangers around every corner, Zig soon encounters Shania, a witch who offers to help him escape the risky streets of Striggo and make it back to Halian safe. Siasha had proven long ago that she was a witch that could be relied on, having saved Zig's hide plenty of times in the past. However, Zig hesitates to extent a similarly trusting hand to this unfamiliar face. With his survival on the line, Shania seems to be Zig's only hope of escape. When a monstrosity above her rank shows up, Siasha is seated with some undesired downtime. Making the best of a boring situation, she and Zig head to the morning market, only to bear witness to a scuffle between humans and demi-humans. But to the inhuman witch Siasha and mercenary Zig, these interspecies tensions are none of their concern - or so they think. They soon learn that these conflicts are far more deep-rooted than they could’ve ever imagined. And as one incident after another pulls them deeper into the fray, it’s only a matter of time before Siasha is pushed over the edge…and shows everyone why witches are so feared.

When Siasha gets called away to help someone on a job, Zig finds himself with time to kill. He’s quickly recruited by Katia, the daughter of a mafia boss, to help investigate the spread of a dangerous drug across the city. Tempted by the lure of a big payout, Zig accepts the request, and together they dig into the underbelly of society…only to discover the problem runs much deeper than they expected.
