Deleuze & Guattari: Emergent Law is an exposition and development of Deleuze & Guattari''s legal theory. Although there has been considerable interest in Deleuze & Guattari in critical legal studies, as well as considerable interest in legality in Deleuze & Guattari studies, this is the first book to focus exclusively on Deleuze & Guattari and law. Situating Deleuze & Guattari''s engagement with social organisation and legality in the context of their theory of ''abstract machines'' and ''intensive assemblages'', Jamie Murray presents their theory of law as that of a two-fold conception of, first, a transcendent molar law and, second, an immanent molecular emergent law. Transcendent molar legality is the traditional object of legal theory. And, as explicated here, immanent molecular emergent law is the novel juridical object that Deleuze & Guattari identify. Developing this conception, Deleuze & Guattari: Emergent Law draws out its implications for current and for future legal theory; arguing that it provides the basis for a new jurisprudence capable of creating new concepts of legality.

This collection of essays explores the different ways the insights from complexity theory can be applied to law. Complexity theory – a variant of systems theory – views law as an emergent, complex, self-organising system comprised of an interactive network of actors and systems that operate with no overall guiding hand, giving rise to complex, collective behaviour in law communications and actions. Addressing such issues as the unpredictability of legal systems, the ability of legal systems to adapt to changes in society, the importance of context, and the nature of law, the essays look to the implications of a complexity theory analysis for the study of public policy and administrative law, international law and human rights, regulatory practices in business and finance, and the practice of law and legal ethics. These are areas where law, which craves certainty, encounters unending, irresolvable complexity. This collection shows the many ways complexity theory thinking can reshape and clarify our understanding of the various problems relating to the theory and practice of law.

Nothing is easy in a blended family, and now more than ever, the world needs our blended families to succeed.
The modern blended family is rapidly evolving. While more and more families are being created from the ashes of first marriages, they are often regulated to the shadows, regarded as second rate or "less than." But blended families are a critical component to the overall health and well-being of future generations.
Blended families by virtue carry more conflict, more resentments, more jealousy, and more anxiety. If we are to create more understanding for how hard it is to blend two families into one, we must first be willing to speak our truths out loud without shame or fear of judgment.
Jamie Murray provides a candid account of what it means to navigate through what is rapidly becoming the new norm-families built after loss and divorce. Filled with real-life stories, heartfelt emotion, and frank honesty, How Many Kids Do You Have? brings to the forefront the unique circumstances blended families face and fights for their rightful place in our shifting understanding of what makes up a family.

When someone betrays you, it has nothing to do with love, or lack thereof. Well, at least not in the way you think.
In this raw, vulnerable book that''s part memoir, part crisis-management guide, Jamie Murray, best-selling author of How Many Kids Do You Have? is once again saying out loud what so many of us are managing in silence. She reveals that when someone is unfaithful in a relationship, it has nothing to do with a lack of love for their partner and everything to do with a lack of love for themselves.
In the aftermath of infidelity, it''s easy to allow hate to lead the way. But what if we could stop focusing on why we''ve been cheated on, how someone could do this to us, and whether our partner ever really loved us and instead focus on loving ourselves more?
Through snarky wit and candid confessions, this book guides us through how to manage the trauma of betrayal without allowing it to define us.
When we can depersonalize the hurt of infidelity, when we can understand that it''s not about love, we can better lead our families through the often-devastating consequences of someone else''s actions. We can better manage our feelings and make healthier choices for ourselves and our families, which ultimately reminds us that we can''t learn to love others until we learn to love ourselves first.
Jamie Murray is a best-selling author and the CFO of the commercial construction company she owns and operates with her husband in San Antonio, Texas. Jamie became a mother at seventeen years old and went on to earn a bachelor''s degree in sociology and a master of arts degree in women''s studies at Texas Woman''s University in North Texas. Before becoming an entrepreneur and an author, Jamie was a high school English teacher for many years. Today, she spends her days juggling the demands of running a family and a company while building a brand centered around saying out loud what humans all over the world are managing in silence.
