A compelling account of a unique New Kingdom figure, from his early life to the pinnacle of his power under Amenhotep III to his manifestation as a cult figureAmenhotep-son-of-Hapu was one of the most remarkable non-royal figures in Egyptian history. In life, he was an official of Amenhotep III, of exceptional prominence, but apparently modest origins. Holding a vast array of titles, he was responsible for the management of the king’s principal works, and was honored with numerous statues and a unique mortuary temple in royal style. Then, a millennium after his death, we find him elevated to divine status, in conjunction with an even more ancient royal builder, Imhotep of the Third Dynasty. As such, he appears in temples around Thebes, even having a a colossal statue erected for his cult in front of the great temple at Karnak. This is the first full-length book in English dedicated to him. It begins with an overview of the fourteenth century BC reign of Amenhotep III, during which the known events of Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu’s life took place. It then investigates what we know of Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu’s background, and reviews the material surviving from his lifetime to reconstruct his activities. Also described are the funerary arrangements of Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu, in the context of contemporary practice, underlining how these were far more elaborate than those of any other official, and approaching royal standards. The authors then jump forward to the second century BC to explore how the cult of Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu was manifested, and the various monuments that were decorated in his honor. The final chapter describes the rediscovery of Amenhotep-son-of-Hapu and his monuments by modern scholarship.

Regarding the repercussions when an individual's comfortable existence becomes intolerable. From the perspective of a capable contemporary individual, Adrian has met all of his responsibilities. He is dynamic, reliable, esteemed, proficient, and energetic. He excels at maintaining seamless operations in both his professional and personal spheres, while effectively managing stress, problems, and conflicts. Despite his competence, something within him has hardened. His mind is perpetually engaged in narrating, reiterating, planning, defending, and focusing on the next demand. His inner self is depleted, although his outward remains operational. What begins as stress rapidly develops into a profound identity crisis. A power outage momentarily disrupts the office, exposing an underlying dimension behind the routine of daily existence. The recollections of a fractured relationship endure within you. A visit to his elderly mother illuminates the emotional foundation of his frenetic routine. After years of disregarding the reality—that he has conflated stress with strength, productivity with worth, and internal vigilance with affection—Adrian ultimately succumbs to the cumulative pressures of occupational stress, physical fatigue, personal isolation, and the persistent desire for control. This narrative does not pertain to attaining success via external factors. This fable will provoke thinking among readers familiar with the impact of internal monologue. Through excessive rumination, overexertion, anticipation, emotional self-protection, and the perpetual effort to stay ahead of life, it explores the subtle behaviours by which individuals neglect their own well-being. What occurs when the struggle against reality begins to wane? This offers a more fundamental question.

Psychological hospitals are filled with mirrors.Of course he used these kinds of mending treatments throughout his mental surgeries; I had no idea. It was at Cathedral Psychiatric Facility that I started to heal from my addiction and develop into the person I am today. Right now, I'm helping out with Cathedral as one of their directors of psychiatry.Something like this is totally predictable. Every day, I could make out the thin shadows beneath Julian's eyes; what was left, though, was the monster's fragile embryo that only a select few would ever recognize. Julian had long since lost some part of himself. "e;In a lifetime, we are constantly dying and reborn. "e;That was his assertive response. Comparatively, few people will actively seek out a different environment in which to start over. Their development is impeded for those who are frightened and root-bound.
