Presents the proceedings from the 2nd Winter School on Mathematical Physics held in Korea in 1991. This volume contains essays presented on physics in 2+1 dimension.

These proceedings discuss current issues in theoretical physics. Topics covered include: quantized spaces; string field theory; and boundary effects of conformal turbulence.

Recently, exciting new notions have been emerging in theoretical physics. The quantum nature of gravitation revealed in the physics of black holes, exotic excitations obeying fractional statistics, and integrable structure such as Yangian symmetry in low-dimensional models are some of the subjects presented in this volume.The spectrum of the talks at the School, reflected in the proceedings, is a wide one ranging from the phenomenology of particle physics to that of condensed matter physics, to topics of a mathematical nature. This is an indication that there is a robust interplay of ideas from diverse disciplines of theoretical physics in the Asia-Pacific region.

This volume is a collection of lectures on the current topics in various areas of physics which were presented at the Inauguration Conference of Asia-Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics.

This work comprises the proceedings of the APCTP-ICTP Joint International Conference, 1997. Topics covered include: QCD as a quantum link model; elementarity in open systems; lattice gauge theories with finely-grained fermions; and the M-theory five-brane.

An analysis of dualities in gauge and string theories. It is divided into two parts, the first containing lectures and the second containing seminars from the APCTO Winter School in Korea. Subjects addressed include intersecting branes and cohomological Yang-Mills theory in eight dimensions.
