Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Multi-Omics-Driven Probiotic Design for Gut Microbiome Engineering

Dr. Mojgani is a Professor of Microbiology at the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute (RVSRI) in Iran. Her research and teaching focus on infectious disease and on the use of probiotic microorganisms and their metabolites in disease prevention and management in humans and animals. She has authored and contributed to scientific books and peer-reviewed publications and participates in ongoing international dissemination through academic conferences. Dr Mojgani also works with industry and non-profit organizations as a senior advisor and consultant, supporting development and translation of probiotic and postbiotic products for veterinary, food, and pharmaceutical applications. She contributes to national standard-setting and regulatory-related activities in Iran and leads professional networks related to probiotics. Her work has been recognized through institutional and national awards.Dr. Ashique is an academic in pharmaceutical sciences with experience in teaching and research, currently working as an Assistant Professor at Bengal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research, Durgapur, West Bengal, India. His research and scholarly interests include drug delivery, nanotechnology, and targeted therapeutic strategies. He has authored and contributed to peer-reviewed publications and is also involved in book chapter contributions with established academic publishers. His work includes industry-oriented innovation reflected in granted patents from intellectual property and international jurisdictions. Dr. Shakira Ghazanfar, PhD in Microbiology/Animal Probiotic, is Senior Scientific Officer at NIGAB, National Agriculture Research Center, Pakistan. A pioneer in probiotic feed/food research to boost productivity in Pakistan, she is an active researcher with numerous publications in reputable journals and conferences, and has contributed book chapters. Her work identifies gaps in Microbial Biotechnology for sustainable livestock and higher food production. She designs and leads research guided by the multifunctional aspects of Microbial Biotechnology, focusing on dairy animal productivity. She provides technical guidance to interns on R&D and has developed guideline packages for interns and farming communities. She initiated the establishment of the NIGAB-Microbial Culture Collection (NMCC) at NARC, a microbial gene bank for preserving strains for teaching, research, and industrial applications. NMCC currently houses a substantial collection and supports applications in animal nutrition, microbiology, and food safety. Prof. Wojciech Marlicz is a consultant in gastroenterology, internal medicine, and gastrointestinal endoscopy at Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, Poland. His clinical work focuses on diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and the management of disorders of gut–brain interaction, inflammatory bowel disease, and gastrointestinal malignancies. His research interests centre on innate mucosal immunity and host–microbe interactions, with particular attention to the role of the microbiome in health and disease.Prof. Marlicz has gained international clinical and research experience at academic institutions in Europe, North America, and Australia. He has published extensively in peer‑reviewed journals on microbiota, probiotics, and emerging technologies in gastroenterology, including AI‑assisted applications. He serves on editorial boards, is actively involved in academic teaching, and contributes to professional societies and global gastroenterology initiatives.
