Peptide and protein drug delivery research has been moving at a brisk pace for over 10 years. Vincent H, L, Lee is Gavin S. Herbert Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the School of Pharmacy of the University of Southern California, where he has taught since 1979. Mitsuru Hashida is Professor of Pharmaceutical and Drug Delivery Research in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kyoto University, from where he received his 8.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in 1974, 1976 and 1979 respectively. Yutaka Mizushima is a Professor of Medicine and Founding Director of the Institute of Medical Science at St. Marianna University.
