Hur varmt är det i tanken? Vilket tryck ger pumpen? Det är två exempel på frågor som kan besvaras med processmätteknik. Att mäta är att veta sågs det, men det gäller också att veta hur bra man mäter! Felaktiga mätresultat skapar problem, osäkerhet och kan rent av vara farliga. I den här boken får du hjälp att undvika mätfel, du får lära dig om olika mätprinciper och hur mätare av olika slag bäst används och monteras. Främst handlar det om temperatur, tryck, flöde och nivå men även annat som finns i en processindustri. Du får kunskap om kalibrering, spårbarhet och mätosäkerhet, och samtidigt om saker runt omkring mätinstrumenten, till exempel CE-märkning, elstörningar, explosionsskydd, skrivregler, signalöverföring, standarder med mera. Vi arbetar med innovation och värdeskapande teknikutveckling. Genom att vi har Sveriges bredaste och mest kvalificerade resurser för teknisk utvärdering, mätteknik, forskning och utveckling har vi stor betydelse för näringslivets konkurrenskraft och hållbara utveckling. En konstyttring som nästan aldrig uppmärksammats – i alla fall inte i Sverige – är flipperkonsten. Detta är mycket märkligt, för egentligen torde ingen kunna undgå att se de – ofta förnämliga – konstnärliga insatserna som återfinns på ett flipperspel. I »Flipperspelen berättar« tar författarna med läsarna på en kulturhistorisk tidsresa och påvisar hur många fördolda budskap det finns i den konstnärliga utsmyckningen på många av spelen. Här kan man till exempel ta del av inte bara av afroamerikanernas kamp för mänskliga rättigheter utan också av drogliberaliseringen och den sexuella frigörelsen. Dessutom skildras spel, som har en stark anknytning till olika historiska företeelser – till Sveriges vikingatid, till usa:s förbudstid, hippierörelsen med mera. Författarna till boken är i flippersammanhang alla mycket välmeriterade: David Dahl-Hansson David har framgångsrikt tävlat såväl i Sverige som i Japan och USA (där han är universitetslärare i engelska). Han är Sveriges nuvarande representant i det Internationella Flippersällskapet (IFPA). Han har som bäst varit rankad på 63:e plats på världsrankingen och har ett EM-brons som bästa flippermerit. Mats Holmqvist Mats har inte bara kuraterat utställningen »TILT – flipperspelens kultur och historia« (tillsammans med Claes Johansson) utan också varit rankad på 64:e plats på världsrankingen. Hans främsta merit är en tredjeplats från EM 2019. Han har också, med bistånd från Statens Musikverk, skrivit standardverket »Svensk Jazzbibliografi«. Christian Holmsten Vid sidan av sitt arbete som art director drev Christian i Borås i många år Skandinaviens största spelhall. Där arrangerade han inte bara Sveriges största och äldsta fristående turnering (Borås Pinball Open) utan också ett flertal SM och EM samt, 2015, ett VM. Han har som bäst varit rankad på 109:e plats på världsrankingen.

Once North Korean forces crossed the 38th parallel in 1950, the lives of many Americans half the globe away, were disrupted. President Truman authorized a call up of enlisted, inactive reservists--like Richard B. Holmsten, an about to be married 20-year-old with a bright future. Replacements were needed for artillerymen killed during one disastrous day in August 1950. He was assigned to the Headquarters Battery of the 8th Field Artillery Battalion of the 25th Infantry Division.This memoir begins with Holmsten's transition from civilian to newlywed soldier. It covers training at Fort Lewis (Washington state), the voyage across the Pacific, and the readying of a Fire Direction Control Center for 105 Howitzers near Kaesong. It covers the early days of the conflict as the unit moved during the flux of battle, the problems faced as the unit retreated south of Seoul, and the efforts put forth as the unit struck north again. The major campaign covered concerns the crossing of the Han River in March 1951. The crossing was a massive but fast operation, and Holmsten's unit was responsible for firing 70,000 rounds of artillery against enemy forces. The daily happenings, hopes and fears of soldier life are explored, including the often-contentious relationship of enlisted reserve versus regular army. It concludes with the author's rotation back to civilian life. Photographs accompany the text.
