Blindness is a theme that pervades the story of Oedipus and the Oedipus complex itself. Es investigadora asociada de la Catedra UNESCO de Bioetica/ PPG Bioetica de la Universidad Nacional de Brasilia (UnB). Desde 2003 se dedica al estudio de la violencia, las vias disidentes y los antidotos contra la opresion. En el ambito artistico es cofundadora del Coletivo do Quadrado de artistas autorales del Distrito Federal brasileno y como parte del duo Tata e Danu lanzo tres albumes y tres singles. Actualmente, vive en Berlin.

El ataque sexual y la explotación sexual de las mujeres, por ejemplo, son actos de rapiña y consumición del cuerpo que constituyen el lenguaje más preciso con que la cosificación de la vida se expresa.

"Cada pueblo debe ser percibido no a partir de la diferencia de un patrimonio substantivo, estable, permanente y fijo de cultura, o una episteme cristalizada, sino como un vector histórico. La cultura y su patrimonio, a su vez, son percibidos como una decantación del proceso histórico, sedimento de la experiencia histórica acumulada y en un proceso que no se detiene. El carácter cumulativo de ese sedimento se concretiza en lo que percibimos como usos, costumbres y nociones de apariencia quieta y repetitiva, que el concepto antropológico de cultura captura, estabiliza y postula como su objeto de observación disciplinar. Sin embargo, todo etnógrafo que regresa a su campo diez años después sabe que esa apariencia de estabilidad no es más que un espejismo, y que usos y costumbres son nada más que historia en proceso. Se advierte, de esta forma, que la costumbre puede ser cambiada y, en verdad, se modifica constantemente, pues la permanencia de un pueblo no depende de la repetición de sus prácticas, ni de la inmovilidad de sus ideas. Soltamos así las amarras que sustentan la identidad, sin dispensarla, pero refiriéndola a la noción de pueblo, como vector histórico, como agente colectivo de un proyecto histórico, que se percibe viniendo de un pasado común y construyendo un futuro también común, a través de una trama interna que no dispensa el conflicto de intereses y el antagonismo de las sensibilidades éticas y posturas políticas, pero que comparte una historia."

En el presente volumen, permanecen las formulaciones iniciales de la autora sobre género y violencia: 1) la expresión "violencia sexual" confunde, pues aunque la agresión se ejecute por medios sexuales, la finalidad de la misma no es del orden de lo sexual sino del orden del poder; 2) no se trata de agresiones originadas en la pulsión libidinal traducida en deseo de satisfacción sexual, sino que la libido se orienta aquí al poder y a un mandato de pares o cofrades masculinos que exige una prueba de pertenencia al grupo; 3) lo que refrenda la pertenencia al grupo es un tributo que, mediante exacción, fluye de la posición femenina a la masculina, construyéndola como resultado de ese proceso; 4) la estructura funcional jerárquicamente dispuesta que el mandato de masculinidad origina es análoga al orden mafioso; 5) mediante este tipo de violencia el poder se expresa, se exhibe y se consolida de forma truculenta ante la mirada pública, por lo tanto representando un tipo de violencia expresiva y no instrumental.
