First Indian Author in English

Making accessible the work of the first Indian to write and publish in English, Dean Mohamed (1759-1851), this book also provides a detailed life-history of the man, together with related historical analyses and assessments. His book, "The Travels of Dean Mohamed", is reprinted here for the first time since its publication in 1794.
